| Mary Jane grew up without a mother as Mary Griffis died when the young Mary was only 7 and her father John aparently didn't remarry. Mary J. married a Farmer, John Guttery and was widowed some 10 to 18 years later. She never remarried and lived with her Daughter Myrtle for a few years then lived on her own. I was not abot to find her exact death however it was most probably somewhere between 1920 and 1930. in 1920 she was at the age of 79. Frank was a farmer. He and Sarah moved briefly to Boone county Indiana before returning to their home in Clinton County where Sarah died at the age of 53 in 1920. They had no known Children. Mary's son Fred must've died young as he shows up only in the 1870 census when he was two years old living with his parents. there is no other record at the moment I could find on him. Dauther Nettie Also became a widow 18 years after her marriage. Her husband Jesse was a farmer. I'm unsure of Netties death. Daughter Mary married a machinist and had one child. I have no information on their son Richard Britton however there is a Richard Britton who was born 7 Dec 1916 rather than 1917 (which is very common when trying to date births from census records) and died 22 Mar 1993 in Florence South Carolina. Daughter Myrtle married Jacob Clyde McMasters, a contractor. He went by Clyde. They had one Child, Paul, who moved to Boulder Colorado shortly after coming of age. He was an agriculturist at a sugar factory there. they had two girls. I could find no death records for Myrtle or Clyde. |
