Marie and Benton  1950's

Marie Fulkerson was born March 2, 1896 in Goldsmith Indiana. She died February 1, 1993. Benton Hacker b: 21 March 1958. Marie and Benton were married August 16, 1916 in Indiana. Marie and Benton had one dautghter, Ann Marie Hacker who is married to John Carolan and have two daughters, Connie and Karen.

My father adored Aunt Marie and would break down every time he saw her in her later years as he was worried each time would be his last.  He had lost his parents by then and she was like a surrogate mother to him. Once at a family function in the early 80's I went over to say hi to Aunt Marie.  after giving her a hug and kiss she just complained, That father of yours, everytime he sees me he starts crying!!!

MARIE HACKER February 1, 1993   Mrs. Marie Hacker of Clinton Township, passed away at the Church of Christ Care Center on Monday at the age of 96 years.  Born in goldsmith, Indiana on March 2 1896, a daughter of Freederick and Anna Ellis Fulkerson, she was united in marriage with Benton Hacker on August 16, 1916 in Indiana.  Mr. hacker passed away March 21, 1958 in Detroit.  Mrs. Hacker has been at the present address the past thirty five years.  Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. John (Ann Marie) Carolan of Clinton Township and two granddaughters; Mrs. Duane (Connie) Hansen of Ray, Michigan and Mrs. Richard (Karen) Winter of Ray, Michigan.  Also surviving are three great grandchildren: Mike, Allison and Haleigh, a brother, Fred (Hazel) Fulkerson of Livonia and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Grace Lewis and five brothers; harry, John, Raymond, Waldo and Hurl Fulkerson.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:30 P.M. at the Will & Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 North Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens with the Reverend William Lawrence officiating.  Private burial will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Detroit.  Visiting hours are from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday.
